"We must each always think first of Malaysia, of the national need and least of ourselves … Everyone must try to help and see that the people are one-minded, with loyalty and one aim, to make Malaysia – the land we love – a happy abode for all of us. If we all do this then we can guarantee liberty, security, prosperity and happiness for the future."
— Tunku Abdul Rahman

The book entitled “DIALOG: Thoughts on Tunku’s Timeless Thinking” was launched on May 24 at Bangsar Village II, Malaysia. Among the other organisations which participated in the creation of the book are Institute for Democracy and Economic Affairs, The One Academy (a leading art and design college), Projek 57 (a social enterprise dedicated to keeping Tunku’s values alive) and us, The Rojak Projek (which created a spice portrait of Tunku made up of spices from all of Malaysia’s major races.
DIALOG has more than 20 individual essays in response to Tunku's quotes.
Previously untold anecdotes and recollections, plus rare and unseen photos, dozens of original illustrations by The One Academy, a leading art & design college, specially composed tribute lyrics to Tunku by Altimet, and we decided to spice it up by creating a spice portrait of Tunku by The Rojak Projek, made of spices used by all major Malaysian races and not to mentioned the views of Malaysians aged 5 to 90 on Tunku's continuing relevance to Malaysia's future.
Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra Al-Haj was our Malaysian politician who served as the first Chief Minister of the Federation of Malaya from 1955 to 1957, before becoming Malaya's first Prime Minister after independence in 1957, remaining Prime Minister following the formation of Malaysia in 1963, when Sabah, Sarawak, and Singapore joined the federation, until his retirement in 1970.
Commonly known simply as "Tunku" or "The Tunku" (a Malay royal title), Tunku Abdul Rahman is widely regarded, even by his critics, as Malaysia's founding father, the architect of Malayan independence and the formation of Malaysia. As such, he is often referred to as 'Bapa Kemerdekaan' (Father of Independence) or Bapa Malaysia (Father of Malaysia).
We would like to give a special shout out to Ajay from M&C Saatchi! He has been one of those amazing people who has been going through back and forth the entire process (even during holidays) just to bring this love content all together.
Your heart and dedication to complete this book says a whole lot about you! Cheers from The Rojak Projek.
Chua Vui Chuan, Kenny Wang, Johnathan Ng, Wening Cheah, Rachel Lee, Lim Sheng Feiyan (Faye) and Jon Cool
