JOURNEY
from colour blindness
to
Vision for Malaysia
phase 1: CONCEPT
It started when a lot of negativity surfaced around Malaysia over the past couple of years. Colour-blindness (B&W) has always been the go to trend to address unity in diversity, though a great concept, we, the Rojak Team thought of it in a different light. To us, the beauty being a multicultural Malaysia shouldn't be diluted to shades of grey because our colours is where the beauty lies!
The Phase 1 artworks were about showcasing the beauty of our food & Malaysians and how it is all together one of the main ways in which we absent mindedly practice love for one another. It's not just about the beauty in variety of Malaysian food but the message that our diversity is equally beautiful.
When Phase 1 was over, we realized that we are not close to even scratching the surface of discovering and understanding Malaysia. This led us to Phase 2…

Rediscovering Each Other
phase 2 (cooking now)
From Malaysia Day onwards, we will be travelling through our 13 states to do mainly 2 things :
1. Filming a documentary of our journey where we'll be collecting Malaysian stories, attempting to
understand different cultures in different states, and of course, food hunting!
2. Continuing our art movement while learning more about our Malaysian food.
Throughout this phase, we will be continuing to capture our Malaysian B&W portraits… and this time, and you guys can be involved too!
*Note that all Rojak Parties has ended since May 2017 to prepare for Malaysia Day event*
